Patients can request help, in-person or online, from a librarian with locating patient-level information on a medical topic. Fill out our Ask the Medical Librarian form to request help. Information provided to patients by the library is for educational use only and should not be considered medical advice.

Yes. Every month we compile a Henry Ford Health Authors Publication List of publications that were published in the previous month. The lists can be found on our Publication List page.
We also maintain the Henry Ford Health institutional repository, Scholarly Commons. Scholarly Commons is an online searchable database that collects and showcases a record of the journal and book content, meeting abstracts, posters and presentations from HFH-hosted conferences, and other scholarly works produced by members of the Henry Ford Health community.

It depends. We may accept medical books that are less than 5 years old, the current edition of the book, and in good condition. You can contact our Acquisitions Librarian, Brianna Andre, with any questions.
We do not accept journals of any kind.

The Sladen Librarians are available to work with you and your team on a systematic review - conducting the search, providing guidance on search strategy development and database recommendations, documenting the search strategies used, and writing the search methodology portion of the review.
The process for requesting a lit search for a systematic review is a bit different than a regular search request. We ask that you begin by answering a few questions about your project so we can approach your search correctly: Systematic Review Questionnaire
Based on how you answered the questions, at the end of the questionnaire, you will be provided a link to a form to request help from a librarian. This is a second step that must be completed in order for the library to receive your request. Our librarians will then reach out to schedule a short discussion about your project with you and your team. Please contact us if you have any questions about this 313-916-2550 or sladen@hfhs.org.
