To get the UpToDate app on your phone, you must first register for a free individual account with UpToDate through Henry Ford Health. Registration must be done from a computer on the Henry Ford network or from a remote connection to Henry Ford and using the link to UpToDate that is provided on the Sladen Library website.
  1. In UpToDate, click on "Register" in the top right corner and fill out the registration form, including creating a username and password.
  2. You will need to verify your email address (you DO NOT need to use your HFHS email). Click on Send Verification Code and obtain the code that is sent to the email you entered into the form. You have 10 minutes to retrieve and submit the code.
  3. Once the code is verified, go to your app store and download the free UpToDate mobile app
  4. Open the app and login with the UpToDate username and password you just created
Additional information on mobile apps can be found on our Mobile App Guide.

Can the library help with a systematic review?

The Sladen Librarians are available to work with you and your team on a systematic review - conducting the search, providing guidance on search strategy development and database recommendations, documenting the search strategies used, and writing the search methodology portion of the review.

The process for requesting a lit search for a systematic review is a bit different than a regular search request. We ask that you begin by answering a few questions about your project so we can approach your search correctly: Systematic Review Questionnaire

Based on how you answered the questions, at the end of the questionnaire, you will be provided a link to a form to request help from a librarian. This is a second step that must be completed in order for the library to receive your request. Our librarians will then reach out to schedule a short discussion about your project with you and your team. Please contact us if you have any questions about this 313-916-2550 or sladen@hfhs.org.
